Patients are screened for Covid-19 symptoms at the time they request an appointment and upon arrival for an appointment.  Any patient who is having symptoms related to a Covid-19 infection which includes but is not limited to fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, congestion, runny nose, loss of taste or smell, headache, sore throat, fatigue, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, etc. should reschedule their appointment and not physically enter the clinic. If you are having any of these symptoms and feel that they are not related to a possible Covid-19 infection, then you should call and speak with the nursing staff prior or to your arrival so that you can be placed in the designated quarantine area.

Patients with any potential Covid-19 exposure will have the option for contactless appointments. Upon arrival patients should wait in the car and call the office staff to notify them of your arrival. Patients will be instructed on where to enter the clinic and allowed to wait in the designated area for patients with any possible exposure to the virus. Accordingly, patients should call the office and advise if any symptoms have developed since their initial time of scheduling the appointment.

Patients with a previous history of Covid-19 infection or direct exposure to a Covid-19 positive person or family member will need a negative antigen test before being seen in the clinic. FAA and DOT certification will only be performed if there is a confirmatory negative antigen test once there has been a Covid-19 exposure or positive infection history. Patients who have tested positive will need to undergo a 14-day quarantine period as well as show proof of a confirmatory negative antigen test after the quarantine period.

Temperatures will also be taken for every individual upon entry into the medical facility. CareFirst Medical Associates ask that only individual essential to the appointment enter the clinic and family members and significant others wait outside or in the transportation vehicle. Any patient who by chance does enter the clinic and answers ‘Yes’ to any Covid-19 screening question will be asked to exit the lobby and placed in the designated quarantine area for further evaluation and assessment. The appointment will be converted to a contactless visit if deemed appropriate.
